Responsibilities

The RN Clinical Manager is a Registered Nurse who will provide oversight of NVHC’s vaccine programs (for adults and children). They will be working closely with the operational leaders, clinical services department, pharmacy and clinical team. The Clinical Manager will perform regular site reviews and work closely with Practice Managers/Site Supervisors and the individual clinic vaccine coordinators (and back up coordinators) to ensure that Immunization policies and procedures/protocols are written, reviewed, updated and followed on an annual basis. She/he will oversee the NVWeb IZ program and help staff to understand this program. This position will also train the vaccine coordinators/ back up coordinators at each clinical site on the NVHC vaccine policies/procedures and protocols.

 

The Clinical Manager will also oversee the CLIA labs in all clinics and work with Clinical RN’s, MA Trainers, and Operations to ensure that all labs are rounded on monthly and that policies and procedures are written/updated/followed and reviewed with the Clinical Lab Director on a yearly basis. The Clinical Manager will also oversee the Medical Assistant trainer specialist in an administrative role, ensuring with coordination between clinical and operational leadership that training procedures and protocols are maintained.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school required. (Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred but not required)
  • Licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Nevada required
  • Current CPR or BLS certification required
  • Minimum three years of experience in a clinical practice with good clinical skills/ability to function as a staff nurse is required
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record systems is required

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide oversight of NVHC Immunization Program to include coordinating with the Nevada Immunization Program to ensure that all vaccinating sites are enrolled with the Nevada Immunization Program and staff are correctly and timely trained.
  • Order and provide oversight of the storage and handling of the clinic vaccine inventory and supplies, both private and state programs.
  • Coordinate the Private FLU vaccine program; coordinates, orders and tracks the annual doses to the individual clinics
  • Proper training of staff on incident reports and that they are completed in a timely fashion to the Quality/Clinical team directors and to VAERS.
  • Management of expired vaccines and IOADS (in clinic medications).
  • Provide oversight of non 340 B in clinic medications: storage and inventory
  • Provide input on the purchasing of vaccine storage units.
  • Provide oversight and be the manager of the vaccine refrigeration alarm systems and data loggers.
  • Oversee and provide the necessary policies, procedures, and updates for the CLIA waived labs across our organization.
  • Will work with Director of Clinical Services and Clinical Lab Director to provide training and updates on all new immunizations and or CLIA waived labs for clinical staff.
  • Planning and oversight of statewide vaccine clinics, including covid-19 vaccine clinics, flu vaccine clinics and other events (e.g. back to school immunization events)

  • Provide vaccinations at vaccine clinics or other events, as needed
  • This RN must travel to all our clinical sites statewide and provide oversight on the Immunization program and the CLIA waived labs on a quarterly basis.
  • This RN will collaborate with medical and operational leadership to develop a comprehensive Medical assistant training curriculum. Furthermore, they will act as administrative leadership for the MA-Trainer Specialist at NVHC.
  • Other duties as assigned by Director(s) of Clinical Services.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of the essential functions, practices and procedures of a medical clinic and office
  • Knowledge and skill in pediatric and adult medication and immunization administration and storage and handling practices.
  • Knowledge of in-office lab procedures; pediatric and adult phlebotomy skills
  • Ability to interact effectively and positively with other staff members
  • Detail oriented and ability to handle multiple and shifting priorities
  • Excellent ability to problem solve, de-escalate/resolve conflict and perform service recovery.
  • Ability to effectively utilize AIDET tool set
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work in a consistent manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage timelines and projects successfully
